Perth Mint’s Australian Lunar Series III collection continues the rich tradition of minting spectacular bullion coins by portraying animal themes from the Chinese lunar calendar. The reverse design changes each year based on the Chinese lunar calendar, and the 2023 reverse celebrates the Year of the Rabbit. Those born under the sign of the Chinese lunar rabbit in 2023, 2011, 1999, 1987, 1975 and every 12th preceding year are said to be intelligent, creative, vigilant and compassionate.
The coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
DESIGN
The coin portrays a leaping rabbit among grasses with feathery plumes. Included in the design is the Chinese character for ‘rabbit’, the inscription ‘RABBIT 2023’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The obverse depicts the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the coin’s weight, purity and monetary denomination.

- Receive a notification when your order is ready to collect (most new items take circa 7 to 10 days to arrive in office).
- Collect with ID or arrange a storage option within Guardian Vaults. You can arrange a storage solution from anywhere in the world with our ‘Key Registered’ storage program.
Delivery
Delivery to a residential address is currently unavailable.
Delivery can be sent via insured secure transport to a business address only, on orders over the value of $50,000. Please contact us for a delivery quote before placing your order. In most cases the insured delivery fee is less than 1% of the value of orders over $100,000.
